Honda Sport Compact Drag Racing In-Car Camera Video Clip
By 2002, import drag racing had fully evolved into sport compact drag racing. The dilemma of where to put V-8 cars was answered by allowing turbocharged V-8's into certain classes, and then modifying the class rules to limit the power of the V-8's under boost. Unlike the V-8 cars in the NHRA, IHRA, etc., it took overhead camshafts from the factory to run with the sport compact racing organizations. By 2005, the V-8 cars had been ruled out of the sport compact drag racing scene.
