The Pacific Street Car Association is the sanctioning body for some of the best V-8 drag racing events on the West Coast.
The emphasis is on the nine heads-up drag racing classes, where power adders are the name of the game. Some of these cars run over 200 mph, with e.t.s in the 6-second range! Everything from tube chassis to street tires is covered in the heads-up categories, and they are all door slammers.
This Deeds Performance Las Vegas Nationals DVD set covers all of the heads-up rounds, from eliminations to qualifying, in all eight classes. There is also some miscellaneous coverage from the bracket/index classes, and several rounds of Top Comp dragster action.
The elimination rounds from the rained-out Winternationals event in February was also run on this same weekend, so you get to see two races for the price of one! The Flashback race also featured eight heads-up classes.
The Pro Street class is the crown jewel of the Pacific Street Car Association, and on this weekend it was a monster battle between WFO Racing and Ed Thorton, in the black 57 Chevy. First they squared off in the Flashback Friday eliminations, then they met again on Sunday for the Las Vegas Nationals event. The result was the closest Pro Street racing that the PSCA has ever seen!
