Re: Re: Mark was doing tech at Bug-o in May and told me that in the stock location, only need the two 3/8 bolts through the pan ,said nothing about a box ,in fact I asked and was told no just the tie downs through the pan.just installed Taylor tray from Jeg's bolted to the floor with the two 3/8 J hooks that catalouge said NHRA legal are no longer that way for '00 (n/t) (Magoo) (14-Jul-2000 22:22:21)

Battery (14-Jul-2000 19:35:07)

Forgot my name (n/t) (Billy Moss "HotStreetVw") (14-Jul-2000 19:36:00)

i used a piece of strap metal, bent it in a few places, and bolted it to the floor. had no problems with tech at LACR. except for all the holes under the hood, but mike hooked me up with some racing tape.. thanx mike (n/t) (Milt) (14-Jul-2000 23:28:48) Holes in the hood? oh shit, i dont even have a handle on the hood now, been driving it around with out it. Figured that the wind resistence would cause the hood to be pushed downard. I bet the handles required huh? Im not sure i will be running with all this stuff missing. Where can i find like the Rules for the track, the things tech looks for? (n/t) (Billy Moss "HotStreetVw") (15-Jul-2000 02:27:50)

Billy you been riding around with a hood latch? We should call you " lucky street vw" : ) (n/t) (Gary Cooper) (15-Jul-2000 09:08:34)

This is what i have been told to run by tech and this should be in the book as well. for inside the car in the stock location only (at least real close to stock location), must have a metallic box, dont remember the thickness, but not that much, and vented to the outside. reguardless of placemetn, there must be 3/8 fasteners holding the battery down. i use a 1/8" doubler plate with 3/8 carage bolts going through the box and on to a picece of rubber coated 1/8 x 1 1/2" angle that holds down the battery and the box at the same time. tabs in the box keep the battery from moving around in the box. If battery is relocated away from the stock location it can not be in the drivers compartment any more. At this time you will also need a battery disconnect switch located in the rear of the car that will shut down all electrical so the starter can reach it and must be clearly marked. Muffler Mike
