I have been reading this forum for a while and have finely found the currage to writ to it.
I´m a guy living in sweden and tryeing to build a 94x82 emgine.
I have a Berg crank with an equaliser in the end, and I`m going to use a cam with
320 duration, on the top of this I will put Dellorto 48. I will drive with a comp of 10,5. But I´m missing a set of god heads theirfor would I like to
buy a set of CB Comp eliminator heads with 48x38 valves or bigger.
If they are done for 94mm it is youst a+.
How many hp can I expect from this combination?
I hope you can understand my english and is able to help me.

What rod journal size is your berg crank. I have a berg crank with capri journal size and it is nothing but trouble. Porsche journal size is also a real headache. Constant bearing
maintenance or failures. (n/t) (Chuck) (26-Oct-00 18:11:20)
Don't have any info, but glad you posted!! Welcome (n/t) (James2) (26-Oct-00 18:20:11)
yea chuck ,ive heard lots of bad about those small bearing cranks, sure theyre strong but the bearings are to narrow to handle the load.... WIDER is BETTER... (n/t) (26-Oct-00 18:33:24)

Chuck, finally someone who tells the truth, Capri bearings suck and are hard to find, and Porsche aren't much better. People are mislead to believe these are the venerable 911 style,
but in fact are 912. The bearings are god awfully expensive, and won't last like a Chevy bearing. I have a SCAT 86 mm with Chevy bearings with no problems like some people claim.
If Chevy bearings are so bad why is every PRA record holder, except one, using them? (n/t) (26-Oct-00 18:49:05)

I am just sharing my experience with everyone, because I don't want any one to waste theur hard earned cash like I did by buying a tempermental boat anchor. Sure the capri size will
work with a 100,000 mile 7 to 1 compression motor with low power output. But not in race applications where H.P. is being made. I would gladly give up some crank rigidity for rod
bearings that will last and I don't have to babysit. (n/t) (Chuck) (26-Oct-00 19:03:10)
With 48 Dellortos, i wouldn't go with such big vavles, maybe 44x38 would be a better choice, otherwise use a 5.500 rod and you should be around 190 hp. (n/t) (Greg) (26-Oct-00

I agree with Greg....Any bigger valves will be shrouded by the cylinder walls. I have a set of Street Eliminator heads (44X37.5) and am very happy with them. The Aluminum is a
better grade than stock heads. Be sure to paint them with Black hi-temp paint for cooling.... (n/t) (Ohio Tom) (26-Oct-00 21:03:13)
why recommend to paint heads? no manufacturer does, also no high temp paint seems to mention whether they are insulating or not ( a G. Berg point I think) (n/t) (mood)

Absolutely DO NOT paint cylinder heads. If you want to increase heat transfer to the air via radiation have them anodized black (BMW and Honda both used this
process on motorcycle heads/cylinders). (n/t) (george brown) (27-Oct-00 09:57:50)

5.700 is awfully long for an 82 stroke, a 48mm is alot of vavle for a 48 dellorto, most guys who run these big vavles have 48ida's or more so 51.5 modified webbers (n/t)

There is one thing about the use of smaller diameter journals in pra bad ass motors, The center mains are usually much bigger thent he vw size to
compensate and stiffen the crank. Ex, Chihiro Abe's superstreet motor has Ford mains.
this is 2.750 dia. damn there big. make the crank look like a little 69mm
or maybe at least a 411 main.
