I don't know how well it flows with the muffler it comes with. Thought of cutting out the muffler and putting a different muffler in its place - Dynomax, Borla etc. Rather than buying a hideaway and cutting out the muffler, where can I buy the flange and pipe. I know muffler shops probably have the pipe and could bend it however I needed, but what about the flange where it bolts up to the header? Anyone have any experiences they could share to help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. John Tiggs

I'm using a Dynomax in my 63 2276ccm Ghia. 1 5/8 Kymco header. I had to cut, twist and reweld the muffler because it was sagging but it works fine now. Great sound. I can mail you pics of how it looks if you want. (n/t) (Morten(Norway)) (27-Jun-2000 04:17:41)

I got a small flange from Kustom1 Warehouse, I think they are available many places. If you have a big flange, I would just grab a Hot VW's or VW Trends and start calling the vendors. (n/t) (Ed) (27-Jun-2000 07:01:43)

I did my own muffler construction using a MAC flo-path. 2 1/2 off-set in and straight out. It came out good and sounds REALLY good. I went to a muffler shop to get the pipe bent and used the flange cut off the stinger (that comes with the header) for the muffler. I am not sure if the ready made muffs will clear on a ghia because of how the merge fits. If you need a pic you can email me. Good luck. Jeff N.
