every thing bolts up except for the rear shock tower to body bracket under the rear fender that you spoke of, you can cut the spot welds off of the

body bracket and re-weld it into position, other thing you may find is the ball joint front beam 10mm bolt bosses that come thru the body may sit

back tward the rear some, if you grind the top mounting plates and play with the rubber pads you can make them work, trimming down the beam

10mm bosses help also, make sure they don't touch the body, if they do, the'll squeak!!. you can only use one each side 10mm (of the original

body's 2) torshion/body mount bolts (under rear seat) but thats no biggie, I've had my 52 on both a 67 & 71 pans and find no difference's, also put

my 54 vert body on a 71 pan with only the same changes. mounting the brake fluid resivor some place, my split uses the late res., i mounted it in the

front trunk, i used the early style on my vert, brazzed a 8mm pipe into the bottom of it and T'd off to the master..looks original:-)

probably forgot something but thats about it.

can't wait to see your 52 in mouse gray, dig that color on splits:-)

Frenchy: about 8-9 years ago I mounted a '56 body onto a '66 pan. I honestly don't remember if I had to trim the rear body mount, but don't think

so. Seems to be that the short rear swingaxle, up through '66, may not require any rework. That would fit in with what Steve B wrote about his '67

pan requiring repositioning the mount. His other points are right on. Are you changing over to a 12-volt system on this car? If you want to mount a

windshield washer, you have at least 3 alternatives as to locating the wahser fluid reservoir. If interested I'll give you my thoughts. How many darned

projects do you have up your sleeve!? Actively combatting mid-life crisis?!
